Champion six-year-old mare Enable will make her seasonal
reappearance for the second-consecutive year in the Group 1 Coral-Eclipse
Stakes (2002m) at Sandown next month.
Trainer John Gosden revealed his plans for the two-time Prix
de l'Arc de Triomphe winner on Monday.
"Enable is in good form and has enjoyed a couple of
spins up the Al Bahathri (Polytrack training course in Newmarket) in the past
few weeks," Gosden told Racing Post.
"But with all of the uncertainty about when racing was
going to restart and even whether Royal Ascot was going to go ahead earlier
this year we've decided to wait for Sandown."
The Eclipse traditionally presents three-year-olds with
their first opportunity to clash against older rivals over a middle distance.
However, with the Derby and Oaks at Epsom rescheduled from June 5 and 6 to July
4, this year's Eclipse on July 5 will be eligible for horses aged four or
older.
Enable, who has won 13 of 15 starts, last raced in October
when runner-up to Waldgeist in her historic attempt at three-successive Arcs.
